Ryan Dowd spent most of his career running the second largest homeless shelter in Illinois. Now he trains organizations around the world (e.g. libraries, shelters, McDonald’s, Wendy’s, Whataburger, etc.) how to compassionately manage conflict with individuals suffering from homelessness, mental illness, substance abuse and trauma. He is the author of the ALA book, The Librarian’s Guide to Homelessness
