Melissa Carle is Senior Director of Information Systems at the Kansas City Public Library, where she focuses on how technology, organizational processes, and people come together to support library service. She guided KCPL’s adoption of SirsiDynix OSAS as part of a broader rethinking of ILS administration and shared ownership of it across the organization. Her work at KCPL explores the space between “Does the technology work?” and “How should the organization use it?” and she is particularly interested in how thoughtful governance and organizational design can make complex systems more resilient, understandable, and useful.
