Public Words for Public Lands

Each of the 400+ widely distributed parks and other units of the National Park Service maintains its own library collections.  The EOS.Web “NPS LIBRIS” online catalog helps us facilitate discovery, but given the  geographic separation between library materials and users, how can we improve widespread access to content?  This talk will give an overview of an initiative to enhance the NPS LIBRIS catalog by adding links to free online full text of relevant works by training our cadre of field catalogers how to locate content, enhance records, and strategize for optimal return on investment.
